3 Dairy a day
Dairy products account for almost all products made with milk such as yoghurt, cheese ... etc..
They are important to their intakes of calcium, protein and vitamin D also
Calcium is involved among others in the formation and maintenance of bones and teeth. It will also play a role in blood clotting and maintaining blood pressure.
During meals try to vary the sources of calcium, alternating: one glass of milk in the morning, a yogurt with a piece of cheese for lunch and a cream cheese in the evening. Note that the goat cheese and fresh cheeses are lower in fat!
Namely:
- Some products containing milk are not treated as dairy products. Examples: butter and cream products are low in calcium and high in fat.
- Some desserts such as custards or creams are not considered either as dairy products.
- The hard cheeses are high in calcium but also fat.
- During childhood and adolescence, it is advisable to take four dairy products per day.
