The more complicated is to find a 'planning' would become an ideal routine. Because when you have free rein to cook, it's often hard not to add certain ingredients though not recommended!
I like the idea of the 10 commandments, had to think! For fruits and vegetables, I think we can easily increase the amount, personally I consumed a little more than 5 per day ... but it depends on the activity level of each.
